Kristen Good, LCSW - Medical Social Worker - Making Home Visits
Those faced with medical complications, and their loved ones, often experience varying levels of anxiety and depression/sadness. My goal is to work with you to help develop coping strategies as you adjust to moving forward, despite your limitations and setbacks. I’ll support you as you explore your feelings, help you maximize your strengths, navigate community resources, and guide you as you prepare for whatever your future may become.
My 20+ years of experience in healthcare ranges from home care and hospice at Waveny / Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County, inpatient surgical support at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, and Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). I have extensive experience working with individuals (and their families) who have cancer, ALS, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia/Alzheimer’s, and other life altering diagnosis.
My therapeutic approach is individualized to each person’s needs, but often includes components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Perspective, Dignity Therapy, and The Mind-Body Connection.
I understand that you are going through a challenging time. I take the time to really get to know my patients, I'm often told that I am easy to communicate with and that patients and their families appreciate my support as they work through their options to make the best decisions for them.
